The Student Council (SR) and RUC Study & Career Guidance are looking for ambitious and competent students to be the Chairpersons of Tutoring 2025
Are you passionate about creating a safe and inclusive study start so that our new students get the best possible start to their life as students at Roskilde University? Do you want to help provide our tutors with the necessary training and ensure that the study start is completed in a satisfactory way? Do you thrive in a work environment characterised by an interplay between development and strategy work and the realisation of events? Then you might be just the ones we are looking for.
Description of tasks
Your main objective as Tutoring Chairpersonship is to educate and prepare the tutors and other volunteers so they can make a safe and inclusive study start for all new bachelor students at the university. The different tasks within this objective will vary from event planning and volunteer coordination to collaborating with many different parts of the RUC organisation, which includes the following:
- Coordinating the volunteers, including recruiting RUS-coordinators and tutors.
- Developing a tutor education program and organising and executing the different seminars and events.
- Implementing different initiatives to ensure that the tutoring program is inclusive and accessible to all students.
- Collaborating with university staff from the administration and the institutes, etc., including bi-weekly coordination meetings with SR and RUC Study & Career Guidance.
- Handling any unexpected practical issues or emergencies that arise during the study start and general support of the tutors’ work.
As part of their work, the Tutoring Chairpersonship is expected to adhere to the strategy and focus points as directed by the “Uddannelsesstrategisk Ledelsesforum (ULF)” and adopt any specific tasks in accordance with these focus points.
Professional requirements
We emphasise that you:
- Have an interest and insight in RUC Tutoring and the study start, perhaps you’ve been a volunteer in Tutoring before.
- Are open-minded, cooperative and seek compromise while maintaining the ability to follow a clearly defined course of action and reach broad, overarching goals.
- Are structured and systematic in your problem-solving and can keep a level head in unexpected or stressful situations.
- Have organisational skills and a strong sense of overview for large projects.
- Possess skills (and preferably experience) with volunteer management, but even more importantly you are humble in the task of the leadership of Tutoring.
- Are passionate about creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for the tutors and other volunteers, so they are prepared to create a fantastic and welcoming experience for all new bachelor students starting at RUC in 2025.
Furthermore, it is required that you are an enrolled RUC student during the entire period of Tutoring 2025.

Salary
The Chairpersonship of Tutoring will be paid with the equivalent of 200 hours of work in total. However, this figure is not representative of the total volunteer time commitment, which is expected to be significantly higher. The salary is paid out as an honorarium from RUC, which amounts to DKK 30,000 in total, to be distributed between the chairpersons. The honorarium is paid according to a further agreement with the RUC Study & Career Guidance. The final payment will be made after the submission of a report/review of Tutoring 2025 by the chairpersonship.
