  • Student Assistant wanted for the Student Council at Roskilde University

Do you want to help support students and the study environment as part of our newly established secretariat?

The Student Council at Roskilde University is looking for a committed, structured and creative student assistant to support the work of our committees. You will play an important part in making sure that the committees’ initiatives and projects run smoothly and efficiently.

    Who are we?

The Student Council is the central student organisation at Roskilde University, representing students’ political, social and academic interests across the university. We work to create a good study environment and to make sure that students’ voices are heard – both within the university and in society at large.

    What will you be doing?
    • As a student assistant, you will be a key part of our secretariat, focusing on supporting the organisation’s standing committees and any temporary project committees. Your main tasks will include:
    • Taking minutes at meetings of the Student Council’s committees
    • Producing texts and graphic content in Danish and English for the committees’ initiatives
    • Promoting the committees’ activities on social media and physically on campus
    • Coordinating and planning meetings together with committee members and the Executive Committee
    • Purchasing and preparing for meetings and initiatives
    • Helping to tidy and clean the Student Council’s office facilities
    • Funding applications and administrative support for project financing
    • Ad hoc tasks related to the committees’ work
    Who are we looking for?

We imagine that you are a structured, collaborative and creative student who:

    • Is studying communication, marketing, social sciences, administration, project management, social entrepreneurship or a similar field
    • Has strong communication skills – both written and spoken – in Danish and English
    • Is an experienced user of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and calendar systems
    • Can prepare minutes, agendas and texts according to instructions
    • Has experience with graphic work (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite or similar)
    • Can communicate messages clearly and engagingly on social media, in texts and in graphic content
    • Can write funding applications and provide administrative support for project financing
    • Has experience with organisational work, committee work or project coordination – an advantage, but not a requirement
    What do we offer?

The position is part-time, averaging 7 hours a week, with physical presence and the option of working from home by agreement.

The working hours are flexible and may fall in the evenings and at weekends without additional pay, as the work follows the committees’ activities. You will take part in planning your working hours together with the head of the secretariat, and the schedule is planned at least a month in advance whenever possible. Study and exam periods are taken into account when planning the work.

    Application

If this sounds like you, we look forward to receiving your cover letter, CV and, if relevant, a portfolio (if you have examples of previous communication and/or graphic work, you are very welcome to attach them) through the application form below no later than 5 October at 23:59.

Please note: The position is open to all students, but we encourage applicants to consider any potential conflicts of interest in relation to other roles in the Student Council or with our partners.

If you have questions about the position, you can contact Oliver Milan Meinike Nielsen at oliver@sr-ruc.dk or by phone: +45 31 71 21 27.
