The Student Council is the organisation for all RUC students, where together we work to secure students’ interests socially, academically and politically. We are a voluntarily run organisation for students by students.
We exist because we believe that we students are the best qualified to know how our programmes become the best for us. We are the everyday experts, and therefore we must be at the centre when decisions are made at our university.
Representation
At the centre of our work stands the ideal of representation. Everyone deserves to be represented in the arenas they move in. Our primary focus is academic matters, because through them we can represent the interests of as many students as possible when decisions are made about the programmes.
Our focus on representation is intersectional. That obliges us also to represent the interests that are not about specific academic fields, but which affect students’ everyday lives.
Independence
The Student Council is a non-religious organisation and is independent of party political interests.
